Internet Services
Every residence hall room has a wired Ethernet port located along the wall. This port can be used to connect your router or other wired devices. Network cables can be obtained from your Community Office. Unlimited access to the wired network connection is included in your housing contract.
Wireless Internet
In order to connect your wireless devices to the Internet, you will need to bring a wireless router. Here are a few tips to streamline your setup experience:
- Bring a router and not a cable modem or cable modem / router combo. A Comcast or AT&T cable modem or DSL modem will not work within our network environment.
- Factory reset your router prior to plugging it into our network. Instructions can be found on the device manufacturer's website.
- Plug your Ethernet cable from the wall port into the WAN port on the back of your router and not one of the LAN ports. The WAN port is a single jack, usually a different color, and separated from the other LAN ports.
- When setting up your router, if given the option, select “Router” mode. Please do not select “Access Point” or “Bridge” mode.
