The Charles and Dr. Diane D. Abercrombie Scholarship was established in April 2015
by Charles and Dr. Diane D. Abercrombie. The purpose of this physician assistant scholarship
is to provide financial assistance to students majoring in Physician Assistant Studies
within the College of Allied Health Professions. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0
GPA, should demonstrate financial need, exemplary record of community service to under
served communities, exemplary professional demeanor, and committed mission of serving
the under served. Preferences given to students from economically or educationally
disadvantaged or comes from a rural and/or medically under served community or meets
criteria or meets underrepresented minority status.

The Parker Family Physician Assistant Studies Endowed Scholarship is awarded every
fall semester to a matriculated student in the amount of $1,400. All students are
considered for this physician assistant scholarship, and no applications are required.

The 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Physician Assistant Endowed Scholarship was established in 2007 by the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ
Department of Physician Assistant Studies to provide an annual physician assistant
scholarship to an outstanding second year graduate student enrolled in the Physician
Assistant program. Student should exhibit high work ethic and professionalism, demonstrate
participation in community and professional activities, and have financial need.
The Health Services Collegiate Program (HSCP) is a scholarship program designed to provide financial incentives for students in designated health care professions to complete degree/certification requirements and obtain a commission in the Medical Corps (MC), Dental Corps (DC), or Medical Service Corps (MSC).

Career Development Grants provide funding to women who hold a bachelor’s degree and
are preparing to advance or change careers or re-enter the workforce in education,
health and medical sciences, or social sciences. Primary consideration is given to
women of color and women pursuing their first advanced degree or credentials in nontraditional
fields.
Award: $2,000 - $20,000

Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology – APAO
Student Scholarship for applicants interested in an oncology specialty. A $2,500 scholarship
is awarded annually in May at the AAPA National Annual Conference.
AmeriCorps
A national program that helps pay for education loans in exchange or a year of service
in designated areas across the United States.
Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions
A Scholarship of Excellence Award awarded to outstanding allied health students in
the amount of $1,000.
Indian Health Service – Health Professions Scholarship
Open to all qualified students of American Indian or Alaskan Native origin. Covers
tuition; required fees, books, equipment, and other educational expenses.
National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program

Thomas Hospital Auxiliary’s Health Career Scholarship Program
Contact Chairperson Rusty Downey or the auxiliary office at (251) 279-1686. Each spring the Thomas Hospital Auxiliary offers health career scholarships to Baldwin
County residents pursuing degrees in healthcare. Graduate students are eligible for
this scholarship after they have completed their undergraduate studies and been accepted
into a health career program.
