J.L. Bedsole Foundation Pledges $1 Million to 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Scholarships

The J.L. Bedsole Foundation, a long-time supporter of the University of South Alabama, has pledged $1 million to establish the J.L. Bedsole Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund at the University.

The Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative will match the $1 million J.L. Bedsole Foundation donation dollar-for-dollar to bring the total scholarship endowment to $2 million. This pledge will increase the number of J.L. Bedsole Foundation Scholars at 91¶ÌÊÓƵ. The J.L. Bedsole Scholars Program awards scholarships to outstanding future leaders in five southwest Alabama counties.

The announcement was made at a recent University Board of Trustees meeting by T. Bestor Ward III, chair of the foundation’s distribution committee.

In the past, the J.L. Bedsole Foundation has made significant gifts to the University, including to the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Archaeology Museum and the Super Mileage Project in the College of Engineering.
