Annual Campaign Raises $224,316 for United Way

University of South Alabama and 91短视频 Health employees and retirees contributed $224,316 to support the 2020 United Way of Southwest Alabama鈥檚 annual campaign.
More than 1,700 current and retired employees gave to this year鈥檚 campaign, which provides funding to 47 health and human service organizations in Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile and Washington counties to address key social issues in the areas of health, education and financial stability.
Lisa Mestas, chief nursing officer and associate system administrator at 91短视频 Health, Andr茅 Green, Ph. D., associate vice president of academic affairs and Stephen Kayes, Ph. D., professor of medical education (retired) served as this year鈥檚 91短视频 United Way Campaign co-chairs.
鈥淭he United Way鈥檚 mission goes hand-in-hand with the values of the University,鈥 said Green. 鈥淭hey provide essential resources to the people of our community, and we are proud to be one of the organization鈥檚 largest employee campaign partners for more than 20 years.鈥
Since 1998, the University and 91短视频 Health have raised over $5.5 million for the United Way of Southwest Alabama through its annual campaign.
Jill Chenoweth, president of United Way of Southwest Alabama, emphasized the importance of the 91短视频-UWSWA partnership. 鈥淏ecause of the generosity of the 91短视频 employees, UWSWA can provide hope and opportunity during this transformational period, stability during unstable times and leadership to steer our partner agencies into a new era of creating a vibrant, healthy community.鈥
