Pathway 91Ƶ Expands to Pensacola State College
Posted on October 19, 2018
The University of South Alabama today announced that Pensacola State College has become part of “Pathway 91Ƶ,” a collaborative program between the University of South Alabama and select community and state colleges that creates a seamless transition to 91Ƶ for transfer students who earn their associate’s degree.
Pensacola State College is the fourth institution to join the program. The academic partnership will enable more PSC graduates to transfer to South and earn their bachelor’s degrees from 91Ƶ.
“The University of South Alabama has historically enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with Pensacola State College, and Pathway 91Ƶ is a natural outgrowth of our relationship,” said Dr. Tony Waldrop, University of South Alabama president. “Both institutions are strongly committed to helping students achieve their degrees in a timely manner and with a minimum of expense. Today’s agreement is an important step in enhancing those goals.”
South currently enjoys similar partnerships with Coastal Alabama Community College, Bishop State Community College and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
“Pathway 91Ƶ’s agreement with Pensacola State College takes effect immediately and is geared toward students who are not admitted at 91Ƶ as well as students who may simply prefer to begin their college education at PSC,” said Dr. Edward Meadows, Pensacola State College president.
PSC students may choose to have a copy of their 91Ƶ application and supporting documents forwarded to PSC for admission consideration. Students already attending PSC may also apply for Pathway 91Ƶ. A unique application will be created and available for PSC students to complete and submit.
PSC students who enter the Pathway 91Ƶ program will have unique benefits, such as:
- Guaranteed admission to 91Ƶ upon successful completion (cumulative grade-point average of 2.0 or higher) of the associate’s degree
- A 91Ƶ academic advisor assigned to them who will provide individual guidance on course selection and map out degree plans
- Special discounts through 91Ƶ’s Jaguar Productions
- Complimentary admission to South Alabama home athletic events
Persons wanting additional information on Pathway 91Ƶ at the University of South Alabama are urged to contact 91Ƶ’s Admissions Office at 251-460-7834 or Recruitment@southalabama.edu or Sheila Nichols, PSC executive director of marketing and communications, at 850-484-1428 or snichols@pensacolastate.edu.
