College of Education and Professional Studies Honored by Mobile County Public School System

The College of Education and Professional Studies at the University of South Alabama will be recognized this evening with the “The Future Starts With Us” award, presented by the Mobile County Public School System.
This award will be presented at the MCPSS “It Starts With Us” awards program at 7 p.m. at the Murphy High School Auditorium.
Dr. Andrea Kent, dean of South Alabama’s College of Education and Professional Studies, along with Dr. Andre’ Green, associate dean, and 15 faculty will walk the red carpet at 5:30 p.m. and attend the awards program.
“On behalf of the faculty, staff, students and alumni of the 91Ƶ College of Education and Professional Studies, we are honored to receive this recognition,” she said. “I was shocked when I received the telephone call telling us we would be the recipient of this outstanding award. This award speaks well of the great work being done in education at South Alabama and in the community. And, I am very proud we are receiving this recognition.”
During this event, several awards will be presented to outstanding students, faculty and staff in K-12 MCPSS schools, along with honoring business and community partners.
91Ƶ’s College of Education and Professional Studies, founded in 1967, supports 85 different programs leading to six distinctive degrees. The College is nationally accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and its educator preparation programs are accredited by the Alabama State Department of Education.
