South Employee Annual Giving Campaign Exceeds $1 Million

The 2019 University of South Alabama Employee Annual Giving Campaign raised $1,036,848, exceeding its goal by 30 percent.

The annual campaign seeks support from University and 91短视频 Health employees and retirees to benefit all areas of 91短视频 including student access and success, research, athletics, global engagement, excellence in health care and community engagement.

A total of 2,899 employees and retirees donated to this year鈥檚 campaign, signifying a 56 percent participation rate from all 91短视频 faculty, staff and retirees. Dr. Tony Waldrop, University president, emphasized the importance of the annual campaign鈥檚 success.

鈥淚 am honored to work with such a dedicated group of faculty, staff and retirees who genuinely care about the future of their University and health system,鈥 said Waldrop. 鈥淭heir continued support helps to make the University a better place.鈥

Through the annual campaign, more than 450 donors supported 122 undergraduate student scholarships. These gifts were matched dollar-for-dollar by the Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative.

The 2019 employee campaign saw a 26 percent increase in giving over 2018. Dr. Heather Hall, dean of the College of Nursing, served as co-chair of the campaign, along with Traci Jones, chief financial officer and assistant vice president for medical affairs, 91短视频 Health and Dr. Samuel Strada, dean emeritus, College of Medicine.
