Dynamic Daily Digest FAQ


Why do I continue to see the text-only version on my phone?

Please keep in mind that the new Dynamic Daily Digest email feature will not be visible on your mobile device if you view email through Apple Mail or Microsoft Outlook. If you would like to view the new feature on your phone, you will need to access the email through the Gmail app.

 

Do I need to do anything in order to view the new Dynamic Daily Digest email feature?

No, this feature will automatically become available to all @southalabama.edu and @jagmail.southalabama.edu email account holders at the time of launch.  All @health.southalabama.edu accounts holders will continue to receive the text-only version of the Daily Digest. 

 

When will the Dynamic Daily Digest email feature become available for 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Health Employees?

Unfortunately not all browsers and mail applications currently support Dynamic Emails.  In some instances, previously supported instances of Dynamic Email content have been discontinued, for instance Microsoft made a decision to pull the plug for Outlook support in 2020.  91¶ÌÊÓƵ Health Employees currently use Microsoft Office 365 Web email interface and the Microsoft Outlook application.  Dynamic Emails are no longer supported by these platforms unless Microsoft reverses its 2020 decision.

Can I switch back to the text-only version?

Yes, you can turn off Dynamic Emails in Gmail if you are using the Google Chrome browser.   In Gmail, find and click on the "Settings" icon, select " See all settings", scroll down until you find "Dynamic email" and uncheck the "Enable dynamic email" checkbox.


Why are older Daily Digest messages showing as text-only?

Dynamic Emails automatically revert back to the text-only version after 30 days.

 

What are the potential reasons for not being able to view the new Dynamic Daily Digest email feature?

Dynamic Daily Digest email will automatically fall back to the text-only version, when:

  • Mail applications (ex: Apple Mail and Microsoft Outlook) does not support for Dynamic Email content
  • Browser (ex: Microsoft Edge) does not support Dynamic Email content
  • User has disabled Dynamic Email content
  • Dynamic Email content was sent over 30 days ago
