Quality Matters is a nationally-recognized program to improve the quality of online and blended courses.

The ILC offers two options for you to certify the quality of your course:

1. Official QM Certification

QM Certification Mark

The “official” Quality Matters review process requires departmental approval and financial commitment.

  • Requires 3 reviewers (including a subject matter expert and someone external to 91Ƶ)
  • Requires that faculty responsible for the course has been trained at applying the QM Rubric
  • Results in recognition on the QM website and designation as an officially recognized QM course on your course home page

2. University-Level Quality Review

This option follows an expedited, internal review process but adheres to the same high standards as an “official” review.

  • Requires 1 reviewer
  • Requires that faculty responsible for the course has been trained at applying the QM Rubric
  • Includes recognition by the Provost, Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and designation as a high quality course on the course home page

Both options require that the faculty member responsible for the course has been trained at applying the QM Rubric. For more information on QM, please contact Shelley Mayo at dmmayo@southalabama.edu
