University Retiree Benefit Program Policy

Retirees from the University of South Alabama are faculty, staff and administrative employees who officially retire from the University under the Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) of the Retirement Systems of Alabama.

The University of South Alabama wishes to recognize and reward its valued retired faculty, staff and administrative employees. A social event will be held annually to honor retirees. An appropriate keepsake will be presented at the ceremony honoring each individual retiree of the previous year.

A Retiree ID card will be provided by Human Resources to gain access to 91¶ÌÊÓƵ programs and events.

Benefits provided to the retiree shall also be granted to the retiree’s spouse for the life of the retiree, except where otherwise indicated.

Failure to abide by relevant 91¶ÌÊÓƵ policies and procedures; or failure to use appropriate conduct while utilizing these benefits may result in corrective action, up to and including revocation of the benefit(s).

The University reserves the right to change, modify and/or terminate any and all benefits for any class of employees, dependents, or retirees at its sole discretion.
